We’re seeking a proactive, community-driven 3 month contractor for Field Marketing and Sales Lead to generate brand awareness, drive trial, and support revenue growth across a regional group of Hair Color Bar locations. This hybrid role blends local marketing, grassroots sales, and in-store sales support — ideal for someone who thrives on relationship-building, creative outreach, and delivering measurable results.

As the Field Marketing and Sales Lead you will be responsible for driving awareness, trial, and conversion by connecting directly with local businesses, community partners, and potential customers. Day-to-day responsibilities include canvassing the local market with promotional materials, building partnerships with neighboring businesses (e.g., fitness studios, med spas, real estate offices), and coordinating events with organizations such as farmers markets, wellness fairs, festivals, and corporate wellness initiatives. You will also support in-store sales by engaging with guests during their visits, promoting retail products and service add-ons, and converting non-members into members. This is a highly visible and field-based role, requiring strong sales instincts and local market knowledge.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Revenue, Hair Color Bar, the position is a contract, with up to 50% travel from home including but not limited to Hair Color Bars, events, and pop-ups. We will provide a travel allowance to commute to and from events and Hair Color Bars. You must located within the greater NYC area.

The base salary range for this position is $30 an hour plus commission. At Madison Reed, we aim to pay competitively. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Scope of Services:

The contractor will provide marketing and event coordination services aimed at generating qualified leads and increasing brand visibility for the Hair Color Bar. Key service areas include:

  • Community Partnership Development: Identify, solicit, and secure a target number of promotional partnerships with local businesses and organizations per quarter.
  • Event Management: Propose, plan, and independently execute a mutually agreed-upon number of local marketing events (e.g., in-store activations, community booths, pop-ups) designed to generate leads.
  • Lead Generation: Develop and implement a system for capturing qualified leads through approved marketing activities.
  • Reporting: Deliver regular reports on marketing activities, lead generation results, and event performance.

Key Deliverables & Performance Metrics:

Success for this engagement will be measured by the achievement of the following outcomes:

  • Number of new, qualified leads generated and delivered to the company.
  • Number of new marketing partnerships activated per quarter.
  • Execution of an agreed-upon number of promotional events.
  • Conversion rate of event-generated leads to first-time appointments, based on data provided by the company.

Local Outreach & Partnerships:

  • Establish and manage a pipeline of potential community partners. The contractor is responsible for all outreach, negotiation, and coordination of partnerships.

Event Planning & Execution:

  • Independently manage all logistics for approved marketing events, including vendor relations, scheduling, and on-site presence.

Lead Management & Reporting:

  • Maintain an independent system for tracking leads generated through marketing efforts. Provide the company with a weekly or bi-weekly report summarizing lead volume, sources, and event outcomes.

What You Will Need

  • Confident communicator and relationship-builder with local partners
