Tray is a Gartner iPaaS Magic Quadrant Visionary and Nucleus Research Leader, and is the platform of choice for companies like IBM, NetApp, and Cisco to achieve powerful results. Our customers are on record for delivering 3X faster, being 60% more productive, getting tangible value from agents, integration, and automation, and reducing risk with centralized governance.
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Senior Product Marketing Manager with a strong technical background to join our marketing team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role sits at the intersection of deep domain knowledge, technical fluency, and go-to-market execution. The right candidate for this role will be comfortable with fast iteration, tight turnarounds, and working closely with the sales team. This is a hands-on role; you will own the rapid delivery of technical marketing assets in a high-velocity environment.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have a strong background in integration, automation, API management, and related areas. The role will be responsible for developing and communicating prospect and sales-facing narratives and content, and for crafting compelling messaging from technical product functionality and emerging features. You'll work closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing to ensure Tray.ai's capabilities are understood, positioned, and enabled — in a way that both resonates with technical buyers and the IT audience and empowers our field to close.
This role is ideal for someone with a technical background who discovered a passion for product marketing, communication, customer impact, and go-to-market strategy.
What You'll Do
Technical Product Marketing
Translate complex technical capabilities (APIs, AI agents, integration architecture) into clear, compelling narratives and presentations for technical and business audiences alike
Own technical positioning and messaging, ensuring differentiation is grounded in real product depth
Sales Enablement
Build high-quality sales enablement assets — including sales presentations, battle cards, technical one-pagers, and demos that equip the field to navigate technical conversations with confidence.
Develop and maintain playbook and persona guides to enable the sales team to navigate complex selling motions effectively.
Work with customers to understand the value they are realizing from Tray and turn that into compelling stories.
Partner directly with enterprise reps, iterating on messaging and decks based on market feedback.
Launches and Market Narrative
Support go-to-market launches for new capabilities end-to-end — from messaging and positioning through content, enablement, and field readiness
Contribute to analyst and press conversations by providing technically credible context and narratives
Work directly with Product and Engineering to stay ahead of the roadmap, surface the "so what" behind features, and bring the customer voice into development conversations
Partner with Demand Generation and Corporate Marketing
Work closely with the demand generation and corporate marketing team, building prospect-facing content and supporting events with content and thought leadership
Develop content and present at industry events, be seen as a strong voice in the space
Act as a speaker on webinars, build web content, develop product tours, and other areas, to help drive awareness and pipeline
About You
Technical foundation: You have a technical background (software development, solutions engineering, technical consulting, or equivalent) or have spent significant time in deeply technical environments — you're not afraid of APIs, can read documentation fluently, and may have built or configured systems before
5–8 years of relevant experience, spanning some combination of software engineering, solutions engineering, technical pre-sales, or product marketing at a B2B SaaS company
Strong written and spoken communicator — your presentations and explanations are precise without being inaccessible; your sales assets are used by reps, not filed away
Great creator – love building content, from creating presentations to product videos. Take pride in excellence.
Commercially minded — you understand the revenue impact of enablement and always connect your work back to pipeline and customer outcomes
AI-curious and informed — you have a point of view on where enterprise AI is headed, understand concepts like LLMs, RAG, agents, and embeddings at a working level, and are excited to help position Tray.ai at the center of the conversation
Self-directed and scrappy — you operate well on a lean team, you don't need process handed to you, and you take pride in building things that work
Bay Area-based, with the ability to collaborate in-person regularly with the CMO, Product, and Engineering teams
Bonus qualifications:
Prior experience with iPaaS, workflow automation, or integration platforms
Experience writing or reviewing API documentation
Familiarity with developer-focused GTM motions
Background working alongside or within enterprise sales organizations
Why Join Tray.ai
Rare role, real ownership. Most companies separate "technical" from "marketing." This role doesn't — and that's what makes it special. You'll have end-to-end ownership across a function that directly influences revenue.
Work on genuinely hard problems. The platform is complex, the buyers are sophisticated, and the AI category is moving fast. You'll be challenged every day.
Small team, large impact. You'll work closely with the CMO, Product leadership, and Engineering — your fingerprints will be on everything.
A path forward. As the team scales, there's a natural path into a Director-level role overseeing technical marketing as a function.
