About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nuclear Maintenance and Technical Training Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nuclear power plant maintenance and technical operations, with specific experience in AP1000 reactor systems, along with extensive experience in training and instructional design. This position will ensure that our training programs meet the standards established by the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
Responsibilities:
- Develop and Deliver Training:
- Lead and deliver comprehensive training programs for nuclear maintenance and technical personnel.
- Create, update, and refine training materials to ensure alignment with INPO, NEI, and NRC standards.
- Conduct instructor-led training (ILT), simulators, and practical exercises for maintenance and technical personnel in areas such as electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Course Design and Curriculum Development:
- Design and develop detailed course content, ensuring that all instructional materials are accurate, engaging, and adhere to regulatory standards.
- Ensure that all technical training modules are up to date with the latest operational procedures, safety standards, and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain a competency matrix for all technical and maintenance positions.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance assessments.
- Continuously refine training programs to improve trainee proficiency and meet operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with NRC regulations, INPO standards, and NEI guidelines in all training activities.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify training needs and provide solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends to ensure continuous improvement of training programs.
- Actively participate in audits and inspections related to training programs and provide corrective actions where necessary.
Experience:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nuclear maintenance, technical operations, or related field within a commercial nuclear power plant.
- At least 3 years of experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for technical or maintenance personnel in a nuclear setting.
- Extensive experience with AP1000 reactor systems and related maintenance processes.
- Familiarity with INPO, NEI, and NRC regulatory guidelines and their application in training environments.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of nuclear power plant maintenance systems, equipment, and operations.
- Proficient in instructional design methodologies, training delivery techniques, and the use of training simulators.
- Ability to assess training needs, develop tailored curricula, and deliver impactful learning experiences.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of learners.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AP1000 reactor maintenance and operational procedures.
- Experience in nuclear training management, program development, or leadership roles.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional technology.
- Prior experience with the development of computer-based training (CBT) or eLearning courses.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:
The estimated starting salary range for this role is $121,000 - $143,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
