About the role:

The Nuclear Company is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Product Manager to lead the vision, development roadmap, and feature prioritization for our cutting-edge "Nuclear OS" platform. The Product Manager will be responsible for defining, prioritizing, and delivering products that meet the evolving needs of the nuclear energy industry. This role will bridge the gap between customer requirements, business strategy, and technical execution, ensuring that our products are innovative, user-friendly, and compliant with the stringent safety and regulatory standards of the nuclear sector. A key aspect of this role will be the proficient use and administration of Jira to manage product backlogs, sprints, and overall product development workflows. This role will report into the VP, Software Enginering.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Nuclear OS.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews to identify opportunities and validate product concepts within the nuclear energy landscape.
  • Translate business objectives and customer needs into detailed product requirements and user stories.

Product Lifecycle Management (Jira Administration):

  • Own and administer Jira workflows for the product development lifecycle, including backlog management, sprint planning, issue tracking, and release management.
  • Create and manage Jira projects, boards, and dashboards to provide clear visibility into product progress and team performance.
  • Define and refine Jira issue types, custom fields, and automation rules to optimize product management processes.
  • Generate reports and analytics from Jira to track key product metrics and inform decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineering, UX/UI design, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and sales teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary product expert, providing guidance and clarification to development teams.

Regulatory Compliance & Safety Integration:

  • Ensure that product features and functionalities comply with relevant nuclear industry regulations (e.g., NRC guidelines) and internal quality assurance programs.
  • Integrate safety-by-design principles into product development, ensuring robust and secure solutions for critical applications.
  • Work with regulatory teams to support licensing and certification efforts related to the product.

User Experience & Feedback:

  • Champion the user experience, gathering feedback from internal and external users to iterate and improve product usability and effectiveness.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and gather post-launch feedback for continuous improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field. MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in product management, ideally in the software or technology industry.
  • Demonstrable expertise in Jira administration and advanced usage for product management (e.g., configuring complex workflows, JQL, custom fields, dashboards).
  • Proven experience in bringing successful products to market.
  • Strong understanding of the nuclear energy industry and its regulatory landscape is highly preferred.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $150,000 - $173,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
