About the role:

The Manager, Planning & Scheduling will report to the Director, Project Controls. The Manager, Planning & Scheduling is the focal point of all project planning and scheduling efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide all planning and schedule development efforts on TNC’s projects and fleets.
  • Establish, maintain, and audit the consistent application of TNC’s planning & scheduling standards and procedures across all projects and fleets.
  • Coordinate with the Project Controls Managers on each project to ensure adequate levels of planning & scheduling support appropriate for the phase of each project.
  • Ensure integration of processes and systems with other Project Controls functions including change management, cash flow development, work face planning, forecasting, progress reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Conduct planning workshops to involve and get buy in from all the key players in the project regarding Planning/Scheduling issues and assumptions.
  • Support project teams (including EPC Contractors) including providing all preparatory input, systems, procedures, and resources necessary for the development of project plans and translating plans into detailed project schedules for regulatory, engineering, procurement, fabrication, modularization, construction, commissioning, testing, and start-up activities.
  • Assure the credibility of information contained in the schedules and basis of schedule documents via reviews and audits.
  • Coordinate and lead schedule risk reviews.
  • Ensure that the baselining (and re-baselining) of schedules is performed per TNC’s guidelines. Promptly flag any deviations and assist in their resolution.
  • Ensure the Schedule Integration Point (SIP) process is implemented and maintained to facilitate the development of an integrated project schedule.
  • Participate in Program and Unit reviews of progress and performance. Provide independent analysis of progress and performance of each contractor.
  • Assist with the validation of claimed progress by any contractor for the purposes of payment of payment milestones as defined by contract.
  • Assist Director, Project Controls with the preparation of the monthly progress report to TNC’s senior management team.
  • Assist the Director, Project Controls with presentations pertaining to progress and performance.
  • Actively participate with TNC’s risk identification and management efforts at a project and fleet level.
  • Support project teams in conducting impact assessments for any proposed changes to baseline schedules.
  • Support Contracts in resolution of contract claims or disputes, including support of any forensic schedule analysis for potential use in legal proceedings.
  • Ensure Key Installed Quantity Reports are accurate by monitoring contractor reports
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the TNC playbook.
  • Provide technical training and guidance to the project team (all, not just Project Controls) on planning and scheduling subjects.
  • At the completion of projects, lead the data capture, development of the project as-built schedule and lessons learned for use on future projects.

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in heavy industrial EPC environments. Experience on Nuclear projects is required.
  • Proficiency in the setup, administration and use of Primavera as an enterprise system and integrating this system with other platforms within TNC and with multiple contractors.
  • Must have strong investigative skills and an ability to ask questions to draw out required information.
  • Must utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure that:
  • We build and retain a culture of “radical transparency” across the fleet to promote the open sharing of both positive and negative information.
  • Team members “feel helped” when intervention is necessary.
  • Functional oversight of planners & schedulers assigned to the projects.

Estimated Starting Salary Range:

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $150,000 - $173,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
