Are you a motivated and strategic sales professional passionate about driving impact in the government sector? Submittable is seeking a Mid-Market Account Executive to pioneer sales efforts for city and county government agencies across all 50 states and territories. This is an exciting opportunity to join our innovative and growing team as the first Mid-Market Account Executive focused on new business development in the govtech SaaS space. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how Submittable empowers city and county agencies to optimize their Grants Management and Social Impact initiatives with cutting-edge solutions.

This role can be based in Missoula, MT, Bellevue, WA, or remote, and will report to the Director of Government Sales.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Develop new business: Build a self-directed outbound pipeline while nurturing SDR-directed inbound opportunities.
  • Deliver impactful demos: Engage city and county government clients with tailored presentations showcasing the value of Submittable’s solutions.
  • Own the sales cycle: Thoughtfully manage opportunities from discovery to close, ensuring accurate forecasting and opportunity management.
  • Achieve results: Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual quotas while contributing to team revenue goals.
  • Collaborate strategically: Partner with SDRs and leverage cross-functional insights to enhance marketing and sales activities.
  • Be a trusted advisor: Educate and support government agencies in optimizing their grants and social impact programs, driving meaningful outcomes.

Skills & Experience We Hope You Bring:

  • Proven experience: A track record of success in government SaaS sales, particularly with city/county government clients or mid-market customers.
  • Hunter mentality: Passion for prospecting and building pipelines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Skilled communicator: Ability to deliver compelling presentations and promptly respond professionally to client queries.
  • Sales operations mastery: Proficiency with Salesforce, SalesLoft, and other sales tools, focusing on opportunity management and forecasting.
  • Team player: Willingness to collaborate and share industry insights to improve marketing and sales strategies.
  • Goal-oriented: A data-driven mindset to track, evaluate, and achieve sales metrics and benchmarks.

Salary Details: The annual OTE (On Target Earnings) range for this position is $140,000-$190,000 with a pay mix of 50/50 (base/commission). Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
