About Seurat
Seurat is transforming manufacturing for people and our planet by delivering a scalable additive manufacturing solution to fundamentally change how products are made. Seurat’s proprietary Area Printing process, developed at Lawrence Livermore National Labs (LLNL), allows metal components to be manufactured at price points and quality levels that compete directly with conventional manufacturing techniques, enabling the reshoring of supply chains and promoting the decarbonization of industry. Seurat has raised over $180M and is backed by leading venture partners like Capricorn, NVentures (NVIDIA), True Ventures, General Motors Ventures, Denso, Porsche SE, SIP global partners, Honda, Xerox Ventures/Myriad Venture Partners, Cubit Capital, Siemens Energy, and Maniv Mobility.
Seurat Technologies is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Designer Intern to join our Engineering team working in our Wilmington, MA, corporate office.
The ideal candidate’s responsibilities include: (a) prototype modeling and assembly documentation, (b) upkeep and support or current assembly and cable documentation
Responsibilities:

Seurat Technologies is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Designer Intern to join our Engineering team working in our Wilmington, MA, corporate office.
The ideal candidate’s responsibilities include: (a) prototype modeling and assembly documentation, (b) upkeep and support or current assembly and cable documentation
Responsibilities:
- Develop a sensor and software which can detect audible spectrum with the intent that this could be a packaged system deployable anywhere in our systems.
- This diagnostic must be able to identify a background or “normal” acoustic signature for the system, and be tunable for sensing “abnormal” spectra.
- Upon abnormal detection the system would alert our controls via an alarm bit or dry contact.
- A benchtop test of this system
- Deploy one or more packaged systems in one of our lasers for a field test
- A stretch goal would be to use an array of 3-4 detectors to allow triangulation of the abnormality within the system
- Programming ability in python, C++, or C#
- Basic circuits and electrical design
- Use of standard tools and diagnostics for this work – computers, oscilloscopes, working with small electronics.
- Pursuing Undergraduate or graduate degrees in Electrical, Computer Science, or Physics
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Work effectively with cross-functional and multidisciplinary team environments.
- 90% work is carried out onsite.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with experience in data analysis and interpretation.
- Familiarity with facility planning, process optimization, lean principles.
