We are currently seeking a talented and team-oriented Laser Technology Service Engineer to add to our team. The ideal candidate demonstrates expert analytical and hands-on experience in laser and optical systems including, but not limited to: opto-mechanical assembly, laser systems alignment and troubleshooting, high energy and/or high average power laser experience, laser diagnostics, optics cleaning and handling, and a basic understanding of optical principals and design.

This job will require standing and leaning over optical systems to adjust, align, and diagnose said systems. Workers must be able to see, hear and handle this level of physical activity in order to work safely in this high energy laser lab environment.

We are currently seeking a talented and team-oriented Laser Technology Service Engineer to add to our team. The ideal candidate demonstrates expert analytical and hands-on experience in laser and optical systems including, but not limited to: opto-mechanical assembly, laser systems alignment and troubleshooting, high energy and/or high average power laser experience, laser diagnostics, optics cleaning and handling, and a basic understanding of optical principals and design.
Job Responsibilities:
- Safely work on or around high energy / high average power lasers systems
- Test and troubleshoot optical systems using traditional laser diagnostics
- Safely handle, clean, and install optics for high energy laser systems
- Have a knowledge of clean room protocol
- Be able to read mechanical and assembly drawings.
- Assemble and install opto-mechanical hardware per design specifications
- Align laser cavities and optical systems
- Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Must be able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Required:
- Associates degree for Laser electro-optical technician or equivalent B.S. in Optical Engineering
- 5 + Years of practical hands-on experience in related fields troubleshooting lasers and/or optical systems.
- A background in optical systems using high power lasers.
- Practical experience installing and aligning optical systems.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Some experience in optical design is a plus
- Proficiency with Solidworks is a plus.

- Must be open to relocation to MA in order to qualify for this position. Relocation package is negotiable.
