About the role

Prime Roots, a pioneering force in the plant-based food industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Sales Manager (East) to spearhead our retail sales initiatives big and small on the East Coast within Retail (Grocery). This position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in retail sales, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to promoting sustainable and innovative food products. This is a role that requires someone who is excited to roll up their sleeves to achieve results.

Key Responsibilities:

Retail Sales Execution:

  • Responsible for full stack - prospecting to closing of retail accounts across categories within the store from deli/prepared foods to plant-based/retail (all categories are chilled and perimeter of store).
  • Experience working with regional rollouts and pitching to regional teams.
  • Experience successfully growing account values over time
  • Experience with creating decks and materials to close accounts and support accounts over time
  • Experience with signing on, onboarding, and managing distributors to support retail expansion


Retail Account Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with national retail partners, overseeing key accounts and ensuring alignment with Prime Roots' brand values.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts, terms, and promotions to drive sales and enhance brand visibility.
  • Responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of in-store marketing and merchandising programs and working with marketing team to ensure that accounts are successful


Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive retail sales strategies, including promotional campaigns, pricing strategies, and product launches.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of sales plans.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate regular reports on retail sales performance, analyzing key metrics and providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Utilize data to make informed decisions and adjustments to optimize sales strategies.
  • Provide reporting and insights to leadership team with thorough analysis and plan to achieve and exceed goals
