Prellis Biologics

Prellis Biologics

Berkeley, CA, USA
Posted on Feb 6, 2026

Prellis Biologics uses proprietary technology to 3D print lymph node organoids, which we are using to generate in vitro antibody libraries andinvitrohumanlymphnodecoculturesfor generating antigen-specific B-cells.We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist – Senior Associate Scientist, Cell-Based Assays, to join our Antibody Screening team. The successful candidate will support and advance antibody discovery programs through development and execution of robust cell-based binding and functional assays. This role will play a key part in establishing, optimizing, and operationalizing diverse assay formats to enable screening of large antibody panels against a diverse class of targets. The successful candidate will contribute across the full workflow, from cell line generation and assay development to high-throughput screening and data analysis, and will work closely with cross-functional discovery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, optimize, and execute on-cell binding assays (e.g., flow cytometry, imaging-based, receptor internalization, competition formats) to evaluate antibody binding to native target conformations.
  • Establish and run functional assays relevant to mechanism of action, including but not limited to: receptor signaling, internalization assays, blocking/competition assays, reporter-based pathway activation assays.
  • Adapt assays for medium to high-throughput screening of large antibody panels, including primary screening and secondary confirmation formats.
  • Transfer and scale assays from development to routine screening, ensuring robustness, reproducibility, and suitability for automation.
  • Execute high-throughput antibody screening campaigns, including assay setup, sample handling, data acquisition, and preliminary analysis.
  • Perform routine mammalian cell culture, including maintenance, expansion, cryopreservation, and quality control of multiple adherent and suspension cell lines.
  • Maintain meticulous experimental records and effectively communicate findings in internal meetings.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S in Biology, Chemistry, Immunology, Biotechnology, or related life science field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or M.S. with 3+ years of relevant experience in antibody discovery, cell biology, or assay development.
  • Hands-on experience with cell-based binding assays (e.g., flow cytometry, imaging, ligand-receptor interaction assays).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and running functional assays for biologics (signaling, internalization, blocking, effector function, reporter assays).
  • Familiarity with high-throughput screening environments and automated liquid handling is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to contribute to multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
