About the Job
We are seeking a System Test Engineer who will be responsible for supporting requirements derivation, developing test plans and test cases based on system and subsystem specifications and models, performing tests on integrated software with hardware products, and documenting and presenting results of test.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop test plans, automated and manual test cases, test readiness reviews, daily test briefs, and test reports among other test artifacts in accordance with the program’s Integrated Functional Capability plan to meet contractual obligations.
- Through planning and hands-on execution in lab environment and customer sites, test system and subsystem requirements to assess whether requirements are met.
- Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineering to derive requirements and develop system models.
- Present System Test artifacts to internal and external program leadership.
- Demonstrate an attention to detail and ability to document system design and implementation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering.
- Experience in developing customer deliverables including test plans, procedures, reports, and various system design documentation.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and/or C++.
- Experience with single board computers, headless computers, embedded systems, Linux.
- Experience developing test artifacts such as test plans, test readiness reviews, and test reports.
- Experience briefing program or corporate senior leadership.
- Familiarity with the software development lifecycle including Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment concepts.
- Familiarity with interface standards such as STANAG 4586, JAUS, MAVLink or UCI.
- Familiarity with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) concepts such as Open Mission Systems (OMS), Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE), OpenVPX, and Microservices and Containers.
- U.S. military aviation experience either as a member of the uniformed services, civil servant, or contractor.
- Experience with aviation safety and risk management and satisfying airworthiness documentation requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference for ability to support travel up to 20%.
- Active Secret Clearance
- U.S. Military aviation experience specifically as a UAS operator or manned aircrew
- Remote Control experience as an external pilot including FAA Part 107 certification
- Experience with any of the following hardware or software: Pixhawk, QGroundControl/Mission Planner, Ardupilot/PX4, and/or ROS/ROS2
- Experience integrating or testing datalink equipment
- Experience integrating or testing various airborne payloads including EO/IR systems
