REQUIREMENTS

People skills & traits

• Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in building and managing distributed backend systems on a large scale.
• Versatility: Ability to navigate seamlessly between backend, DevOps, and research roles.
• Leadership: As the Head of Cloud, you'll not only be an expert but also a guide, leading a team of engineers towards our vision.
• Human First: You're compassionate, knowledgeable in people management, and a pleasure to work with.
• Team Spirit: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, ensuring smooth, empowering team dynamics.

Technical skills & qualifications

• Languages: Our primary development languages are Go, Python, and Java. Proficiency in these is crucial.
• Cloud Environment: We operate within AWS, leveraging its vast array of services and tools to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Databases & Platforms: Our data infrastructure is both diverse and complex. We work with Aurora, Postgres, HBase, Databricks, and Elasticsearch. Given the sheer volume of our data, hands-on experience with these databases and platforms in a large-scale production environment is non-negotiable.
• Data Scale: At Nexar, we're not just dealing with data, we're dealing with a LOT of data. Experience in managing and optimizing large-scale production systems is an absolute must.
• Engineering Acumen: A deep-rooted understanding of algorithms, concurrency, asynchronous processing, and distributed systems. You're well-versed in modern engineering best practices, including microservices, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, and incident response.

Using anonymous, aggregated data captured from this network, Nexar has developed a portfolio of vision-based data services for public and private sector partners to make roads safer and more efficient.
