THE OPPORTUNITY:

To lead, propose and create best-in-class design and configuration solutions for our customers, ensuring alignment with the capabilities and solutions we offer. As the Digital Design Team Lead, you will take ownership of the delivery of design excellence, while guiding and mentoring a talented team. Ultimately, you will ensure the design team promotes our brand by delivering high-quality solutions, even on tight deadlines.

WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO:

• Lead and perform extensive analysis on financial documents to discover optimal layout and templates for configuration.
• Configure solutions using CSS, our product, HTML and other document renderers.
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
• Ensure accurate alignment to existing brand guidelines or lead the creation of new brand systems for our clients.
• Continuously improve processes and champion innovation within the team.
• Present and communicate designs and deliverables to peers, clients, and executive-level stakeholders.
• Oversee visual design stages from concept through configuration to final client handover.

DESIGN

• Strong understanding of visual design principles such as typography, layout, grid systems, proportion, and colour theory
• Skilled in prototyping and conceptualisation
• Ability to analyze and design solutions independently, while mentoring others
• Understanding of UX and accessibility standards
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to provide constructive feedback on team output

CONFIGURATION

• Analyze, document, and configure solutions independently and guide others in best practices
• Solid proficiency in HTML, CSS, and troubleshooting
• Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility

DOCUMENTATION

• Lead documentation of solutions and encourage knowledge sharing across the team
• Contribute to and drive continuous product and process improvement

COMMUNICATION

• Confidently present and justify design decisions
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communication
• Support team meetings, initiatives, and knowledge exchanges
• Represent the design team internally and externally with strong verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION & TRAINING

• Proven portfolio showcasing leadership in digital design and execution
• Minimum 5 years of professional web design/development experience, with at least 1–2 years in a team lead or mentoring role

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Significant experience in digital and UI design
• Exposure to working within a development environment advantageous
• Experience interacting directly with clients and managing expectations
• Strong interest in data visualisation, analytics, and finance-related design

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Proficient with modern design tools – Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, etc.
• Strong HTML and CSS skills
• CSS-in-JS and JavaScript experience advantageous
• Intermediate experience with website building (WordPress, Elementor, or other page builders)
• Able to drive projects independently and lead others to success
• Strong time management and task prioritisation
