Why this role matters:

As a Senior FPGA Engineer, you’ll help build and maintain the FPGA systems that power ICEYE’s satellite constellation. Your work will directly impact the performance, reliability, and scalability of critical onboard systems including radar payloads, downlinking, TT&C, and ADCS. Working at the intersection of embedded systems, signal processing, and space technology, you’ll contribute to technologies that enable near real-time Earth observation and mission-critical intelligence capabilities globally.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain FPGA components running onboard ICEYE satellites

• Prototype and develop new satellite features and embedded system capabilities

• Work on core FPGA technologies supporting radar, downlinking, TT&C, and ADCS systems

• Coordinate testing activities, including on-orbit validation and system bring-up

• Collaborate closely with embedded Linux, userspace software, hardware, and multidisciplinary engineering teams

• Prototype and validate new FPGA architectures and data processing algorithms

• Contribute to advanced embedded system integration and new technology concepts

• Support efficient development workflows through version control, CI/CD practices, and FPGA frameworks

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

Strong FPGA engineering experience, including multi-gigabit transceivers, fast sensor interfacing, multiple clock domains, and integrated data converters

• Good understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts

• Experience prototyping software to validate FPGA design performance

• Ability to prototype data processing algorithms using Python, Matlab, C, or similar high-level programming languages

• Solid software engineering fundamentals and experience with Git-based development workflows

• Ability to work across multidisciplinary engineering domains and quickly learn new technologies

• Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English

• Willingness to work with research topics and scientific literature

Nice to haves:

Knowledge of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) processing algorithms and concepts

• Knowledge of space telecommunications systems

• Experience working with modern CI/CD pipelines

• PhD in Radar Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or a related field

• Experience with embedded Linux environments
