As an R&D Satellite Build Engineer, you’ll enable rapid innovation by building, integrating, and validating engineering model satellites, ensuring new configurations are executed reliably and translated into flight-ready systems.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

• Execute the build and integration of engineering model satellites, including mechanical and electrical assembly

• Perform incoming inspection and verification of components prior to integration

• Support and execute functional, environmental, and system-level testing activities

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues, escalating where needed

• Document build, integration, and test results with full traceability

• Collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing teams to implement new configurations and design updates

• Support rapid iteration of prototype builds and improve build processes and tooling

• Translate evolving R&D requirements into structured and executable build activities

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in satellite, aerospace, or complex hardware system assembly, integration, or testing

• Strong understanding of mechanical and or electrical integration processes

• Experience following technical procedures with high quality and precision

• Familiarity with inspection, verification, and testing methodologies

• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot integration challenges

• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering teams

• Ownership mindset with focus on quality and timely delivery

Nice to haves:

• Experience with satellite or aerospace hardware systems

• Familiarity with cleanroom environments and ESD-safe practices

• Experience with environmental testing such as vibration or thermal vacuum

• Experience with configuration control and change management processes
