Why you will love this role:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Manager Engineering Supply Chain to manage the supply chain interface for complex, fast-paced engineering development projects within a highly technical and regulated environment. This position requires a strong leader who can balance strategic procurement, regulatory compliance, and engineering agility, while also effectively leading and developing a dedicated team.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on procurement expertise, deep project management experience across parallel development projects, and the leadership capability to drive performance and alignment across engineering, supply chain, and supplier ecosystems.

What will you do in this role?

  • Lead and manage a high-performing team of engineering supply chain specialists and procurement professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Serve as the primary supply chain liaison for engineering programs, ensuring that material and supplier strategies support development speed, cost goals, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee sourcing and procurement for engineering projects from both approved and new suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and corporate policies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers as needed to support technical and timeline requirements; lead the supplier qualification process in collaboration with quality, regulatory, and legal teams.
  • Coordinate across multiple, concurrent engineering projects, ensuring that procurement and supply chain inputs align with development milestones, prototyping, and pre-production planning.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and manufacturing to ensure supplier capabilities align with technical requirements, including design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and innovation needs.
  • Monitor supply chain risks, lead times, and resource allocation across the engineering portfolio; proactively resolve conflicts and delays.
  • Drive best practices in supplier engagement, sourcing documentation, and cost tracking; support continuous improvement of processes and tools.
  • Report key performance indicators to senior management and contribute to supply chain strategy planning for development programs.

What will you need to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain or procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven success managing engineering-focused procurement and supplier development, including both approved and new suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience in regulated environments (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or semiconductor), with working knowledge of compliance frameworks.
  • Strong project management skills, including managing multiple, simultaneous development projects with tight timelines.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and project tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with a collaborative and diplomatic approach to cross-functional alignment.

In addition to the above, it would be beneficial if you had the below attributes and skills:

  • Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, MS in Engineering or Supply Chain).
  • Certifications: PMP, APICS CPIM/CSCP, or Six Sigma.
  • Experience leading supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance evaluation in regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with digital sourcing and supplier management platforms.

What’s In It for You?

  • A job that matters in a dynamic Earth Observation environment with a scale-up approach
  • An independent role with a supportive and diverse work environment
  • Occupational healthcare, occupational and accident insurance
  • A yearly benefit budget to spend as you wish (i.e. on sport, transport, bike benefit, wellness, lunch, etc.)
  • Phone subscription with iPhone of choice
  • Relocation support (i.e. flight tickets, accommodation, relocation agency support)
  • Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes
  • Inspiring and collaborating offices and silent workspaces enable you to focus
