Who are we?
ICEYE is the global leader in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite operations for Earth Observation, persistent monitoring, and natural catastrophe solutions; owning and operating the world's largest SAR constellation. ICEYE is headquartered in Finland and operates from five international locations with more than 600 employees from nearly 60 countries, inspired by the shared vision of improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation.
Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark – providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.
Our team is a tight-knit group of experts across many disciplines (e.g., engineering, software development, radar technology, etc.). We’re innovative, driven people who strive for excellence in everything we do. Teamwork, curiosity, and having fun are core values at ICEYE, and contribute to Making the Impossible possible!!
Why should you work for us?
ICEYE is at the cutting edge of new technology and we are continuing to build and operate our commercial constellation of SAR satellites. Working with ICEYE, you will be part of making the impossible possible, whilst shaping the Earth Observation industry. You will work with varied, diverse and engaged colleagues to further the ICEYE mission. At ICEYE we realise that without great people we can not succeed, therefore you will be an integral, valued and appreciated colleague, with the ability to directly shape the vision and direction of the business.
We actively support Continuous Professional Development, and will provide access to a range of avenues to allow you to succeed, including courses, training and attendance at conferences. ICEYE is a place where your development, your growth and your success is a priority.
Who You Are
You’re a network engineer who thrives on turning complex challenges into elegant solutions. You don’t wait for perfect instructions—you dig in, learn fast, and make smart decisions in the face of change. You succeed in environments where priorities shift quickly, balancing speed with precision.
You’re a proactive problem-solver who takes ownership and drives issues to closure. You’re a collaborative communicator who understands that great networks don’t just connect systems—they connect people and teams. And you’re a detail-oriented engineer, ensuring nothing is left unfinished, from configurations to documentation. Above all, you adapt quickly, stay curious, and bring clarity to fast-moving situations.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build secure, scalable network infrastructure across on-premise and AWS cloud environments, adapting and extending existing designs to meet evolving developer and business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and stabilize legacy and complex network environments, identifying hidden dependencies, cleaning up outdated configurations, and designing resilient long-term solutions that prevent recurring issues.
- Configure and optimize firewalls (Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco, Palo Alto) — leading policy management, IPsec VPNs, HA, routing, and segmentation — and manage AWS VPN connectivity (site-to-site and Client VPN).
- Ensure seamless, secure connectivity between on-premise and cloud systems (VPCs, Transit Gateways, Private Link, Direct Connect, VPNs).
- Troubleshoot with urgency, resolve problems at the root cause, and prevent them from recurring.
- Collaborate with systems, cloud, and security teams to embed zero-trust and compliance-driven designs.
- Automate repetitive tasks with scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools (Python, Terraform, Ansible).
- Monitor performance, detect bottlenecks, and act fast to restore reliability.
- Lead disaster recovery, security hardening, and continuous improvement of network processes.
What You Bring
- Clearly demonstrated senior-level experience in network engineering .
- Proven expertise with firewalls (Fortinet FortiGate preferred; Cisco/Palo Alto also valued).
- Deep knowledge of routing and switching: BGP, OSPF, VLANs, inter-VLAN routing.
- AWS networking experience: VPC design, CIDR planning, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs, security groups, NACLs, Firewalls.
- Solid grasp of network security models, access controls, and zero-trust concepts.
- Hands-on scripting/automation experience (Python, Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and proficiency with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, FortiAnalyzer, Zabbix, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Clear, effective communicator who works seamlessly across teams.
- Understanding of multi-tenant or multi-site segmentation, isolation, and zero-trust approaches.
- Experience creating and maintaining network documentation, runbooks, and diagrams.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing and deploying SASE architectures.
- Background in cybersecurity best practices: patching, hardening, audits.
- Participation in BC/DR and compliance-driven designs.
- Experience with Kubernetes networking (CNI plugins, ingress controllers, service meshes, and hybrid connectivity with on-prem/cloud).
Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO, where required)
What do we offer?
- A job that matters in a dynamic Earth Observation environment with a scale-up approach
- An independent role with a supportive and diverse work environment
- Occupational healthcare, occupational, and accident insurance
- A yearly benefit budget to spend as you wish (i.e. on sport, transport, bike benefit, wellness, lunch, etc.)
- Phone subscription with iPhone of choice
- Relocation support (i.e. flight tickets, accommodation, relocation agency support)
- Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes
- Inspiring and collaborating offices and silent workspaces enable you to focus
- A wide variety of the best coffee, tea, snacks, and sweets to accompany your daily space mission
