As an SE2 at Helpshift, you will play a critical role in the development of our frontend applications, ensuring they are performant, scalable, and user-friendly. You will collaborate closely with our cross-functional teams to deliver world-class user experiences that delight our customers.


  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop product features that impact thousands of customer service representatives globally.
  • Code Quality: Write scalable, maintainable, and clean code to meet performance and architectural standards.
  • UI/UX Integration: Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, collaborating with designers to bring pixel-perfect designs to life.
  • Code Reusability: Create reusable code and libraries to optimize development efficiency and ensure code consistency.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize frontend applications for maximum speed and scalability, continuously monitoring and improving performance.
  • Feature Development: Collaborate with your team to define, design, and ship new features that enhance our product offerings.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues, and proactively address them to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Code Maintenance: Maintain code quality, organization, and test coverage, promoting best practices and code review.
  • Code Review: Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure high code quality and adherence to coding standards.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering their growth and development.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for frontend code and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Security and Accessibility: Implement and maintain security best practices and ensure accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) are met.
  • Technological Innovation: Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and trends, exploring their potential application to improve our products.

Required Skills-

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4+ years of experience in writing client-side JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Good understanding of ReactJS and reFlux and Flux.
  • Familiarity with build tools like Babel and Gulp.
  • Knowledge of frontend optimisation techniques and tools (e.g. PageSpeed, Lighthouse).
  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Strong understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Handy with the shell and automation tools.
  • Nice to have:
  • Experience with CSS frameworks like SASS and Tailwind.
  • Experience working on large front-end applications.
