The Opportunity

Our Marketing team is growing and we're looking for a Production Lead to join us in our mission to help people get their best sleep. Are you obsessed with “the right” lighting and always thinking about how to make “that shot” happen in service of a set creative vision? Do you have a knack for knowing how to make even the oddest of ideas come to life on time and on budget? We are looking for a creative production and operationally minded leader who can build the production capability within Hatch. This person will be responsible for working across our Creative, Design, Marketing and Product teams to manage all custom shoots, still and video, as well as operate as our in-house production consultant on making even the craziest stunts come to life.

We are hyper focused on making great marketing that connects with people and grows our business; we have big ambitions, especially around video. We need someone who isn’t afraid of building something from nothing, likes to get scrappy but can also switch into the 30 thousand foot strategic view. We’re ready to visualize & build a production studio for Hatch that keeps an eye squarely on fulfilling our business goals.

This role will report to the Sr. Director, Marketing Operations & Production. This person must be based in the United States or Canada. Hatch is based out of California, so this role would be asked to be available during PST/PDT hours.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the exploration of new technologies and trends that can be leveraged and expanded by cross-functional partners
  • Partner on the creation of workflows and processes with partner teams to help implement creative practices through a network of production vendors and contractors
  • Define the strategy and approach for production capabilities at Hatch that can scale and support all business needs including creative innovation with our product as well as across external customer touch points
  • Oversee end-to-end production management for key shoots, activations, and asset creation for bespoke campaigns
  • Support Hatch creative teams across the business fulfill their goals, development and production needs
  • Work with the teams to vet budgets and schedules, providing feedback on viability and risks, track & manage costs, keeping stakeholders aware of status
  • Review creative/scripts, storyboards, briefs & begin defining production strategy, determining budget estimates
  • Collaborate with internal teams & external production teams to lock schedules and manage budgets

What You’ll Do

Within 3 Months:

  • Immerse yourself in the brand, our products, how we currently manage shoot production, and the overall marketing opportunity for the brand.
  • You’ll build relationship switch key stakeholders and learn how Hatch Marketing and Design functions work
  • You’ll absorb and understand how the creative development process currently works at Hatch and start to think about how to influence it for the better
  • You’ll begin to define a point of view on a production strategy for the team the enables fulfill of key objectives and begin to educate stakeholders on best practices

Within 6 Months:

  • You’ll identify the creative production roadmap for the team, establishing short and mid-term milestones
  • You’ll be responsible for all major production needs across the team for our biggest campaigns
  • You’ll work closely with the Operations, Creative, and Design on understanding the creative needs and opportunities while raising the bar on how we project management, execute, and budget creative production
  • You’ll own creative infrastructure projects the span needs across multiple stakeholders in order to find solution that can scale

After 1 Year:

  • Collaborate across product, marketing, and content to find future-facing creative solutions for all photo and video strategy
  • Actively contribute to infusing a consumer- first, creative-centric approach to operating models and systems we build
  • Be a key voice across teams as an expert in our brand execution

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years experience building and leading creative productions and shoots
  • Strong leader who can influence across teams and projects
  • Strong understanding of the production process for all sorts of medium with an appetite for experimentation and challenging the way “things should be done”
  • Able to switch back and forth between creative and technical teams able to act as translator for both
  • Deep bench of creative resources and experience to draw on with a track record of aligning the right resource with the right project
  • Loves the work and getting things done but able to pull themselves and others out of the day-to-day to think about the bigger picture
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Ability to deliver great production solutions that enable the creative, drive efficiency, all while on budget
