As a Senior Principal Scientist, Medicinal Chemistry at Enveda, you will independently drive lead optimisation programmes — designing novel molecules, interpreting SAR, and shaping drug discovery strategy across multiple programmes. You will work at the intersection of synthetic chemistry, DMPK, biology, and AI-enabled design while mentoring the next generation of medicinal chemists. Reporting to the Director/AVP of Chemistry, your scientific ownership will directly advance our mission to deliver hope to patients everywhere.

Independently design novel molecules, interpret SAR/SPR, and generate design hypotheses to drive lead optimisation programmes

Integrate biology, DMPK, and AI insights into compound design; use AI-enabled molecular design tools to accelerate discovery

Lead multiple discovery programmes with full scientific ownership and present strategy to cross-functional global teams

Mentor junior scientists in medicinal chemistry thinking, scientific communication, and decision-making

Ensure compliance with Enveda notebook SOPs, internal IP standards, and database requirements
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

PhD in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry from a leading research institution with 12-15 years of medicinal chemistry experience in CRO or integrated drug discovery

Demonstrated track record of independently driving lead optimisation and delivering preclinical candidates

Expert practical skills in synthetic organic chemistry, route design, and SAR/DMPK-informed decision-making

Strong rational drug design experience including novelty evaluation and IP awareness

Outstanding scientific presentation and communication skills; comfortable representing programmes to global teams
