Manager, Technical Accounting
The Manager of Technical Accounting will serve as a key member of the accounting team, providing expert guidance on complex accounting matters and ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role will focus heavily on technical accounting areas including debt, leases, revenue recognition, complex common control transactions (CCT), and other high-impact areas relevant to a global data center organization. The ideal candidate will partner with cross-functional teams, provide clear and well-documented accounting conclusions, and support the organization in navigating both U.S. and international reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a supporting subject matter expert on technical accounting matters including debt, leases, revenue recognition, and CCT under both US GAAP and IFRS.
- Research, interpret, and document complex accounting issues, providing clear and actionable recommendations to the Senior Manager of Technical Accounting
- Monitor changes in accounting standards and assess the impact on the company, developing implementation plans as needed.
- Assist in the preparation and review of technical accounting policies and ad hoc memos for internal and external stakeholders, including auditors.
- Support the accounting team with structuring transactions in a compliant and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Legal, and other departments to ensure alignment of accounting treatments with business objectives.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial statement disclosures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to the accounting teams on technical accounting topics.
- Participate in special projects, process improvements, and policy updates as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a technical accounting or public accounting role (audit or advisory)
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a challenging environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts for non-accounting audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and a passion for quality of work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, particularly in areas of debt, leases, revenue recognition, and complex transactions
- Strong research skills and ability to prepare high-quality technical accounting memos.
- Experience working with large, complex, multi-entity organizations, preferably in technology, telecommunications, or real estate sectors.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation

The VP of Accounting and Technical Accounting Senior Manager, as well as most departments are in the office Tuesday through Thursday.
