The Role

We’re looking for a senior engineering leader to own how the system is built and run.

You’ll be accountable for production reliability, security, and scale, stay hands-on where leverage is highest, and work closely with the CTO to set technical direction and standards while mentoring engineers.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Production infrastructure, reliability, security, and incident response
• Platform architecture and operational standards as the system scales
• CI/CD, release safety, and developer velocity
• Hands-on systems and backend work where it matters most
• Mentorship and technical leadership for engineers
• Infrastructure security and compliance (SOC 2 and similar)

What We’re Looking for

• 12+ years running production systems; startup or founder experience required
• Ownership of high-volume, large-scale distributed systems with end-to-end responsibility
• Strong backend engineering (Node.js / TypeScript) with full-stack debugging instincts
• Multi-cloud experience (AWS primary; GCP/Azure) with Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, GitLab
• Proven operation of Postgres, Redis, and production observability stacks
• Deep experience in reliability, security, and networking fundamentals
• Clear async communication; fluent English for docs, incidents, and technical discussions
• Bonus: regulated environments or meaningful open-source contributions

Comp: $200K-$275K base + bonus + meaningful equity
