Some context on our team

Chameleon is a product adoption platform that enables SaaS product teams to create in-app tours, embeddable experiences, checklists, etc.
We raised a Series A in 2022 after years of bootstrapped and sustainable growth, so we are financially strong. We have never conducted layoffs and believe in thoughtful hiring through financial forecasting.
It’s a great time to join as we have achieved product-market fit, established the fundamentals of operating as a marketing team, and work with over 300 outstanding customers, such as Twilio Segment, Mixpanel, Fivetran, Salesloft, Chili Piper, Clickup, and more.

The Growth Marketer Role at Chameleon

This role is exciting because we have a known brand and great organic inbound traffic. Now, we want to boost and accelerate awareness and demand using paid campaigns. Our website already converts well, but there’s room to grow in different audiences and segments. Similarly, we have decent paid ads set up, but we know we can do more and get wilder with our campaigns.
We're looking for someone with a go-getter attitude—someone ready to roll up their sleeves and dive right in. If you're the type who loves solving problems, has a ton of ideas, wants to measure and see results, and wants the thrill of a fast-moving startup, then you might be the person we're looking for
Here’s how we estimate you spending your time:

Paid campaigns (~40%)

Whether it’s Paid Search, Paid Social, or something entirely different—you’ll help us take our strategy here from 1 to 100
Creating new ads: writing new copy, crafting images (or memes) for new or refreshed ads, working with the creative team to make new assets.
Analyzing data: understanding attribution and ads performance by running analysis in GA4, Dreamdata, Sheets, etc.
Reporting insights: we work closely with the Sales team to close the feedback loop on what is and isn’t working; you’ll share these learnings regularly
Translating content to campaigns: figuring out smart ways to generate demand from the content campaigns we are running
Testing channels: We are exploring what we can do through new ad channels, including newsletters, events, new online platforms, etc. You’ll help decide how we spend our experimental budget (e.g., Should we attend more industry events? Or should we be on Reddit?).

Website optimization (~40%)

Landing Pages: ensuring LPs are aligned and tied to ads; creating new LPs as needed for new campaigns and always trying new things
Conversion experiments: running optimization experiments with Mutiny across the entire website to different segments and with different formats and displays
Lead generation: using our content campaigns to generate leads (e.g., high-quality, downloadable content, not gating for the sake of it!)
Website strategy: working with our marketing team to define the website roadmap, spec changes and give feedback—through to deploying changes and iterating.

General marketing (~20%)

We’re a lean, agile marketing team; we all roll up our sleeves and get stuck in wherever work needs to be done. You will collaborate closely with the rest of the team to ensure we’re aligned on our approach across all channels (organic, paid, outbound, events, etc.) and support our larger marketing initiatives as needed.

Our tooling stack

These are some of the tools we currently use
HubSpot (CRM)
Customer.io (marketing emails)
Mixpanel (website analytics)
Dreamdata (multitouch attribution)
Mutiny (no-code website experimentation)
Ahrefs (keyword insights)
Statamic (Website CMS)
Livestorm (webinars)

Skills and experience that will aid success in this role

2-3+ years of paid/demand gen experience at a B2B SaaS company (min $5k / mo budget)
1+ years working at a Startup (Seed or Series A)
Familiar with ad strategies, optimization methods, and KPIs
Proficient in analyzing data in spreadsheets and/or BI/analytics tools
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make data-informed decisions (you might not always have all the data, but you’ll have a strong hypothesis)
Skilled in writing compelling, creative, succinct copy
Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment; you’re a self-starter, and we’ll encourage you to have flexibility in your day-to-day work to try new things

Other requirements

You have a fully functioning workstation and a quiet place to work (and take calls) with a high-speed internet connection
You are located in the Americas or Europe
Note: if you are located in a different geo, we cannot consider you, despite any willingness to work within these hours
Fluency (written and verbal) in English
Chameleons are all different and uniquely beautiful. They change and aren't required to associate or identify with any specific labels. We welcome the chance to get to know you and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that consists of a variety of backgrounds, cultures, languages, abilities, experiences, preferences, and characteristics. That's what helps us all grow and evolve.

We designed the Application process to be engaging

Our hiring process is designed to give you a taste of working at Chameleon as a Growth Marketer so you can reliably decide whether this is the perfect role for you (or not!).
We expect this process to take 2–4 weeks from the time you apply:
Fill out our application form This will not look like others; it will not be tedious and robotic, but it will engage you in ways similar to the job. It will also speed up the process as our goal is the first chat to offer in around two weeks.
First interview We’ll answer your initial questions and ensure you understand what to expect going forward. This will be your first chance to meet a Chameleon teammate
Skills interview You’ll meet with Kirsty to answer role-specific questions and discuss your experience and how you would apply it in this role (and at Chameleon)
Take-home
This short exercise (~2 hours) allows us to collaborate with you asynchronously and see how we would work together!
Debrief discussion/interview If we're impressed with your exercise, Kirsty will schedule a call to discuss it and have you meet some other folks from the marketing team. We’ll discuss the take-home to understand why you made certain decisions and what you could have done differently.
References (as needed) Typically, we like to talk to 2–3 references (we’ll collect in the process) and give you a chance to meet any other key folks on the Chameleon team!
Offer We'll give you a call to provide you with details of your offer and hopefully agree on your start date!
It's important for us to learn from our mistakes and to uncover our blind spots. If you found anything in this application process unclear, inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate, or if you have suggestions for improvements then please let us know! Email us at [email protected].
