Role Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Android Developer to lead the development of a next-generation platform for a high-profile client. This is a high-impact role where you'll be responsible for building and optimizing a complex, feature-rich Android application with location-based functionality at its core. This position demands a developer who can "hit the ground running," bringing deep expertise in Android development and a startup mentality to deliver on tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize a complex Android application with multiple layers, including features such as screen sharing and location tracking.
• Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions for a real-time location-based application.
• Work closely with the existing Android engineer during the handoff to ensure a smooth transition and knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the app meets high-performance and usability standards.
• Handle end-to-end development, including architecture, coding, and debugging.
• Operate autonomously in a fast-paced, startup-like environment, with a strong ability to self-direct and prioritize effectively.
• Ensure the app meets stringent requirements for efficiency, particularly with location-based functionalities, and is ready for launch to a high-profile client.
  
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience building and optimizing complex Android apps with advanced features, such as real-time location tracking and screen sharing.
• Expertise in developing apps with efficient location-handling capabilities.
• Strong background in mobile app architecture and designing for scalability and performance.
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment with minimal supervision and a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mentality.
• Familiarity with GIS, Mapbox, and/or other location-related technologies is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality apps quickly while ensuring efficiency and stability.
• Strong focus on practical experience—able to clearly explain what you’ve worked on and how you contributed.
• Comfortable working remotely with availability to overlap PST hours.
