As a Junior Automation Engineer at AccessPay, you will play a vital role working within a cross functional team, participating in the quality assurance of our software with a primary focus being on the testability and performance of our service offering. You'll actively participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including manual testing, setting up automation suites, creating test plans, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The emphasis is on creating robust, scalable, and maintainable systems to address the unique challenges of this field. As a member of a small, agile team, you'll directly impact project success and contribute to the growth of our software engineering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for the evaluation, implementation, maintenance, and on-going improvements of our test automation solutions, ensuring standards are followed and the solutions are tailored to deliver quality time and time again
- Help define test plans / executions / cases
- Verifying acceptance criteria using automated and manual strategies
- Working with the engineering and product teams to help deliver high quality features using test suites such as Cypress / UseBruno
- You will help devise and assist with automation training plans and material to ensure the wider team start to build test automation knowledge and UI test compatibility
- Work with software engineers in sprints to conduct a suite of manual and automated tests to ensure quality, maximise defect detection prior to deployment and verify feature requirements are met
- You are consistently coming up with new ideas and ways of working within automation
- You will help with promoting and increasing visibility of the QA function and its technical capabilities with the wider team
- Working knowledge of JavaScript / Cypress implementation
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience automation testing of APIs using UseBruno
- Experience using Cypress for UI automation testing
- Understanding of common data formats (JSON, XML and YAML)
- A self-starter, have the ability and motivation to learn about new tools and technologies
- Sound understanding of various test methodologies and what good test automation looks like (functional and non-functional) in supporting the end-to-end testing process
Desirable Skills
- Passionate about technology and eager to learn C# test automation / development
- Awareness of C# unit testing frameworks
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL or PostGres)
- Knowledge of event driven architecture (RabbitMQ or similar)
- Understanding of statement and payment files within fintech
- WCAG testing knowledge
- Hold an ISTQB or equivalent qualification
